Ordination Service for Pastors Larry & Josh March 4 at 5:00 PM Pastor Larry will be ordained to the Gospel Ministry as our Worship Pastor and pastor Josh will be ordained to the Gospel Ministry as our Student Pastor. The service will be in the sanctuary at 5 PM on March 4th. Join us for this special event.

A Note from Our Student Pastor

As I sit here reflecting on my first week at
Wellford Baptist church I am reminded of
how great of a calling we as Christians really do have.
In his last appearance on this earth Jesus told
his followers in Acts 1:8, “But you will receive
power when the Holy Spirit has come upon
you, and you will be witnesses in Jerusalem
and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends
of the earth.”
Of all the things Jesus could have told his followers, the most important thing to Him was
that they go and share this Good News that
they had been given.
This task has also been given to us as Christians to go and share the same Good News to
all who have not heard or believed. This task
should be what drives our lives as Christians.
It is my prayer this week that you seek to
make this task your purpose, and that you get
out of your comfort zone and help people see
Jesus.
I look forward to serving you and your family
and I am so excited to see what God is going
to do through you at Wellford Baptist

Discipleship Groups

Every Sunday, there are opportunities for children, students and several more for adults to choose from…
These small group classes continue into April. Activities for Preschool, Children,
and Youth are also offered during the same time period
(5:00-6:30). You need to sign up for the Beth Moore study so
that we can order books. The other classes can be joined at any
time. You can even switch groups from week to week.
ID Groups (Intentional Discipleship) – Led by Pastor Carl in
Room 110. This is a discussion group that takes a deeper look at
questions raised in the scripture passage from the morning sermon.
Beth Moore’s James: Mercy Triumphs – Offered by the Yahweh’s Sisterhood and facilitated by Jane Entrekin on Sunday
evenings in the Social Hall. The class will also be offered on a
weekday morning TBD, facilitated by Shannon Foster. Please
sign up on the board in the hallway so we can be sure to have
enough books. The Sisterhood strongly encourages all women to
become involved in biblical discipleship. Join one of our studies
offered, participate in a pastor’s class on Sunday evening, or
organize your own group. We will be happy to help you with
materials and pointers if you would like to host a home Bible
study. See any of the Women’s Ministry Team!
Biblical Character Studies – Led by Allen Elder in the sanctuary. Each week Allen will take a look at a character from the
Bible. By studying different people in the Bible we can learn a
lot about God, about mankind, and about life.
Difficult Questions/Biblical Answers – Led by Mike Stokes in
the Assembly Room. How reliable is the Bible? What about the
books that were left out of the Bible? Why does a loving God
allow bad things to happen? What does the Bible teach about
election and predestination? These are some of the questions
we’ll address each week and we’ll also cover other questions
that arise from the group. Ever had a question about God or the
Bible but were afraid to ask? Now’s the time to ask!

Christmas Celebration Dec. 25 at 10:30 AM

Wednesday Night Activities

Bible study for all ages, children, youth & adults! Come and enjoy dinner ahead of service.

Bible studies for all ages begin at 6:30 PM on Wednesday. Dinners are at 5:30pm.

COST: $4 for Youth and Adults, $2 for 6th Grade & under (with a maximum cost per family limited to $14)
Reservations will be offered on a WEEKLY basis.
There will be no standing reservations, you must fill out a reservation form each week.
Forms are available on the back of the pews. You may place these in the offering plate each week, or you may call or e-mail the church office by no later than 12 Noon Tuesdays to make your reservations. Dinners provided by Duncan Family Restaurant.

(Forms will also be available on Wednesday Nights for you
to make your reservations for the next week)

Help Needed: If you would like to volunteer for our serving
crew on Wednesday nights, we have room for you! We could
use help making tea (during the day on Wednesdays) a couple
of times each month. We could also use help serving and cleaning up. Contact Vivian Wetzel if you would like to volunteer.

Welcome Josh & Stephanie

We are excited to announce that Joshua Glidewell has been called to serve as our new Student Pastor!

He assumes his duties at Wellford Church on January 8, 2012.

Josh was born in 1985 and was privileged to grow up in a Christian home where he was taught the Bible from very early on in his life. He accepted Christ and made him the boss of his life when he was 5 years old kneeling in his mother’s bedroom.

He later surrendered to vocational Ministry at the age of 13 at a Royal Ambassadors camp in Missouri. While he did not fully know what God had in store for him at that time, he knew that he wanted and needed to surrender to serve HIM for the rest of his life.

Josh married Stephanie in 2010. She was born in Jackson, MS and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She enjoys biking, music, traveling and is active in student ministry leadership.

He enjoys playing sports, reading and travelling. His favorite quote is from Steve Prefontaine, “To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift.”
